My life is what happened when I was making other plans -- which is hardly as bad as it sounds; it's just that I'm no stranger to the unexpected. I'm a giyores, a frum Jew who used to be a punk. (Still like the music, but I have no patience for spending that much time on my hair, especially now that I keep it covered.) I used to be a lefty but now vote Republican and earn money writing about the oil industry. I used to want to have the kind of job that garnered mentions in Time and Newsweek, and now I would rather spend the energy being a good mother and a decent person. I used to dream of traveling the world, and now I like hanging around at home with my kids and husband. (I enjoy being a boring old married lady. I write about my parenting experiences at netiimvzaviyos.)
I have a son and a daughter. My son has been diagnosed with autism, so I spend no small amount of time looking for ways to help him.
All in all, life is pretty good.
